Since the inauguration of Las Ventas, this space has undergone numerous renovations to adapt it to new surgical advances. Today, it can be considered a hospital.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"w-separator size_medium\"><\/div><div class=\"w-video align_center ratio_16x9 has_iframe\"><div class=\"w-video-h\"><iframe title=\"Youtube video player\" src=\"\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/zn531K5Zakw?autoplay=0&controls=1&origin=https:\/\/lasventastour.com\/en\/&loop=0&mute=0\" allowfullscreen=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\"><\/iframe><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row via_grid cols_1 laptops-cols_inherit tablets-cols_inherit mobiles-cols_1 valign_top type_default stacking_default\"><div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p><strong>The Las Ventas infirmary serves all types of public<\/strong>: spectators, workers in the arena and, of course, bullfighters. When a matador is gored, he is taken by his colleagues to the observation room, where he is given an initial assessment. If it is determined that the injured person needs surgical attention, the swordsman is notified, who undresses the bullfighter, avoiding, as far as possible, cutting the bullfighter&#8217;s suit. <strong>As a curiosity<\/strong>, inside the infirmary there is a television through which the medical team closely follows the gorings; in this way, when the bullfighter arrives at the observation room, they know, almost perfectly, the location, extent and trajectory of the goring. In the Las Ventas infirmary, under the care of the team of Dr. M\u00e1ximo Garc\u00eda Padr\u00f3s, the main treatments are carried out, those of greatest urgency and magnitude. Afterwards, the injured person is transferred in a mobile ICU to a hospital, where his recovery continues. Hundreds of lives have been saved within the walls of Las Ventas, sometimes miraculously, thanks to the mastery of its doctors.<\/p>\n<h2>How many people have died?<\/h2>\n<p>Since the opening of Las Ventas, only five people have died in this infirmary: two bullfighters, two banderilleros and a carpenter.
