Its radial design and four distinct levels create a unique architectural experience. During the guided tour, you&#8217;ll walk through the stands and understand the construction logic that has kept this <strong>neo-Mud\u00e9jar jewel standing since 1931<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n<h2><strong>The structure of the stands: radial design and hierarchy of views<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The stands are organized into 10 sectors arranged radially around the ring. This geometry is not random: it responds to acoustics, visibility, and internal circulation flow. <\/p>\n<p>The height defines four clearly differentiated levels:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Lower stand<\/strong>: first row of seats, direct contact with the ring.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Upper stand<\/strong>: second level, more distant views but still immersive.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Tiers<\/strong>: third level, broader perspective of the whole.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Top galleries<\/strong>: upper level, maximum coverage of the plaza.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Solar orientation defines the experience:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Sectors 9, 10, 1, 2 (shade)<\/strong>: Located to the north and northwest. Designed by Manuel Mu\u00f1oz Monasterio\u2014second architect of Las Ventas and driving force behind much of the decorative program\u2014it stands out for its strategic setback and rich neo-Mud\u00e9jar ornamentation. <\/p>\n<p>Its location at the tier level responds to a precise criterion: sufficient elevation to command the ring, but visual integration with the mass of the plaza. The construction details\u2014columns, arches, polychromy\u2014reflect the formal language that Mu\u00f1oz Monasterio developed throughout the structure. <\/p>\n<p>The Royal Box is only occupied on special occasions, mainly during the San Isidro Fair (May-June), when the Royal Family attends. Its presence marks the most important event on Madrid&#8217;s bullfighting calendar. <\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Presidential Box: functional hierarchy<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Immediately to the left of the Royal Box is the Presidential Box, where the President of the bullfight sits\u2014the highest authority of the event, represented by a National Police commissioner.<\/p>\n<p>This physical proximity is not accidental: it responds to a logic of visual and ceremonial control. From there, the entire spectacle is supervised and trophies are awarded to the bullfighters.
