Before or after your visit to the bullring to discover its history and its secret corners, as well as stroll through the beautiful bullfighting museum that houses a large collection of art in addition to the costumes of the most famous bullfighters, such as Manolete, you can enjoy some beer or wine with tapas in the Tavern La Tienta, or a fantastic menu consisting of traditional but at the same time renewed dishes of Spanish cuisine.

La Tienta, Gastronomic Tavern, is located about 50 meters from the Las Ventas Bullring, on the corner of Alejandro González and Alcalá streets. It is one of the most historic venues in the “Las Ventas” area, since the tavern opened its doors in 1952: almost 60 years of beers, tapas, wines and rations. And of course, afternoons of bulls and social gathering. The name of the establishment is, in itself, a nod to bullfighting. La Tienta is the pre-fight test that farmers perform to test the calves’ bravery.

This tavern has been recently remodeled, with a careful decoration where the world of bullfighting is very present: pictures and pictures of bullfights combine with tiles and wood very New York style, combining tradition with modernity.
